Disappointing to here it's on hold for now, but thanks for at least giving us an update on the situation :)
-
This is a huge drag. Back in January, it was 4 to 6 weeks. Now, 8 weeks later, on hold with no idea of a release date. I hope that we'll be updated on when you guys might have this ready. Right now, using just the software and not the rack seems like a waste of a thousand dollars.
-
@queso-st-eele Okay I'm going to be blunt here.
I don't understand this sentiment. If you just bought the rack/head specifically because of BA2, that's entirely on you. The rack/head still does what it's always been advertised to do; it works just fine with BA1. BA2 being out does not invalidate this to any degree. For that matter, we were neither promised nor entitled an immediate upgrade when we purchased the hardware units, and these things take time. It's not like it's a piece of cake to port new software to an embedded platform like this. Frankly, the fact that we're getting the upgrade for free is something we ought to be thankful for in the first place.
Forgive me if I sound rude here, but calling it a waste because it's not yet compatible with software it was never guaranteed to be compatible with at this time just seems like calling out your own poor judgement in hastily buying something under a false assumption. Just give it time, man, the upgrade will come when it's ready...
-
@ash-wolford I pre-ordered the rack the minute it was available. I said just using the software, not the rack, seems like a waste. I wasn't promised any upgrade when I purchased the rack, but I was promised an updated firmware when Bias 2 was announced and released. I specifically contacted support, as their announcements were a bit vague about firmware. They said 4 to 6 weeks a couple of months ago. Now there is delay and it doesn't feel good to have expensive hardware so quickly surpassed by software. I'm not boycotting PG, I'm just bummed that their committment is unfulfilled so far.
-
i mean, i'm bummed too, but i'm not gonna call it a waste just because i can't make use of the latest and greatest with my Head quite yet. It's still darned awesome even on the older software, and I can still use BA2 with my PC to prepare for when they do release the update. Heck, we got the BA2 Pro upgrade for free, that's more than people who bought BA1 by itself got.

**Changes in BIAS AMP Desktop 2.1.0.870
Implemented bundle firmware, and software compatibility for BIAS MINI**
Does this mean that Bias Amp 2 now works for the mini @Felix ? And if so, is there any new ETA on the firmware for Head/Rack? My impression was that they all use the same hardware more or less?
-
I would love to know the answer to this question as well - bump!
-
@johan-enbom Yes, you can get Amp2 and the MINI connected now. I will reach out to our product team and let you guys know the ballpark later.
-
I'm no coder or DSP hardware designer but if they're getting Bias Amp Mini to work with Bias Amp 2 then it can't be that much of a difference to get it working on the larger head, right? Am I underestimating the work it takes to get the firmware ready?

Any news @Felix ?

@johan-enbom Our QA experts have been working on this for a few days, please stay tuned!

Would be good to get any update on this as support for the bias mini head has already been released even though (according to an email I just got) the mini head is only just being rolled out. Surely the flagship head/rack should have been updated before the mini head which isn't even out?
Sorry if this sounds a bit snarky but we've been waiting a while for the update and I guess when I saw support for the mini was rolled out I assumed the mini head was also available
-
Please put our minds at ease and give us a realistic ETA. I think that's all we want right now.
-
@Felix Any update on an ETA?

Obviously not, as the Mini has been given precedence. This suggests the market wants this more.

@Felix Do you have any news for us? :)

Hello, yes I'm very curious too to hear any news on availability of Bias Amp 2 for Bias Head. So far the information has been very limited. I've upgraded to Elite to be able to acces the Celestion IR, and it really sounds great. But live I depend on the Bias Head. I've bought quite some products from PG so I think some realistic planning is not too much to ask for as a loyal customer. Why not be open about it?

I don't think they are ignoring users. It's probably more something like this:
