I was hoping to use the Mini as an iOS interface to run BiasFx2 (and Amplitube, etc., etc.). So far, I have found that it is necessary to disconnect BlueTooth Audio to get the device recognized in BE2 (maybe not in the others; I haven't tested yet)

That said, apparently the signal still passes through one of the four presets chosen in hardware in the Mini. I made a "Thru" model with no components, and had to include a "Flat Acoustic" amp to get a signal through (at least so far).

This still made it subject to the famous latency issue as far as I can tell, but I still was able to apply some control to the signal .

This is a work in progress, will continue testing, but PG should provide an optional "Thru" channel for the hardware with no signal processing whatever, so the Mini can be used as a straight on interface, even with its own BiasFx2 app.

PG's reaction so far was that the Mini "wasn't built for that application", even though they brag about a Mac/Windows interface which I haven't tried yet. (lugging along a computer obviates the most important use of the Minni - its portability, and I was hoping to use it with my iTouch even....)

@chuck-keyser you really won’t get a practical result using the guitar input on the Mini to drive iOS based plugin processing as you described. The latency will be poor. Either use the Mini to create the guitar sounds and monitor directly as expected or get a low latency interface like the Riff or similar- I’d buy something with a mic input.

Positive Grid t/s just informed me that the latency issue is being addressed for USB recording in an upcoming firmware update, which should address the iOS interface issue.

I think they are also aware of the latency issue at the Aux In, so the update should address that as well.

For example, there is no latency whatever in my iRig Micro Amp using the micro USB interface to my iPad with the BiasFx2 app. I can also use my GT-1 and Pocket GT (and my Boss GX-1oo and HX Stomp) into the Aux in with no issue whatever.

@chuck-keyser Oh I know other things have lower latency, I'll believe Positive Grid are fixing that when it happens. They told me they would address SPAM in the forum....
