BIAS Head/Rack - does the headphone-out mutes all other outputs?
-
Manual keeps calm about that information and I am far away from the rack at the moment… so?
-
@sascha-ballweg no, the headphone-out won't bypass any output from the rack amp.
-
Thank you @Felix! One further question: is it dangerous to use the Head/Rack without connected speakers (just to FOH)?
Of cause I would not connect/disconnect speaker-outs at a running device. -
It's not a tube amp, so I would guess yes. Besides, too many people would've blown their shit up by now.
-
I think so, too. But a guess is a guess and a helpful manual is a helpful manual ;)

@sascha-ballweg BIAS Head/Rack comes with the class-D amplifier, you can use it like solid state amp.....
-
@felix based on your answer I guess a solid-state amp could be used without connected speakers and so a Class-D could be, too. But all that assumtions… :open_mouth:

"A class-D amplifier or switching amplifier is an electronic amplifier in which the amplifying devices (transistors, usually MOSFETs) operate as electronic switches, and not as linear gain devices as in other amplifiers."
