I have had my Spark Amp for 3 days and have noticed a strong chemical odor that gets stronger rather than weaker. The amp should be in my living room, but this is not possible due to the smell. As a city dweller, I don't have a balcony, terrace or garden to ventilate the Spark. Now my Spark stinks all over the place and my wife insists that it go away.
How long does it take for the smell to go away? Does anyone have any experience? If the smell doesn't go away, I'll send the Spark back.

@steinhaus24 mine didn't have any odor at all. Others who have gotten amps with strange odors have said it dissipates in about a week or so.

I had a smokey smell on the amp, it was strong indeed. I actually left the amp in a room with open window for a full night. the Smell was gone after 2-3 days.
Nothing alarming, just fake leather smell probably.

@steinhaus24 Mine was like yours. Bad enough that it kind of burned the back of my throat is was so strong. I cleaned all the surfaces with fabreeze which seemed to help some, but I would say for 2 weeks it's was pretty bad and it took the better part of a month for me not to notice it. If I get close to it, I can still detect it, but it's not noticeable unless I do that. Although your sense of smell has a way of adapting after a while so I don't know how much of if is just me getting used to it. But I was away from the house for most of the day yesterday and didn't noticed when I got home last night. It does go away, but it takes several weeks.

Mine didn't have any smell. I'd guess that, like any factory, they get their individual components in bulk, and whether or not you have the smell (and how long it lasts) depends on when your unit was built during the vinyl inventory cycle. Probably those with the smell were "lucky" enough to be built with a fresh vinyl inventory.
