What's the best way to simply insert a gain control between two FX stages in a preset? Some (lots?) of effects don't have a volume or trim for their output, and it would be useful to be able to adjust the level before going on to the next stage.

For example, the analog stereo chorus rack is a really great sounding unit, but when the 'mix' control is set reasonably high, the level at the output of the unit is much higher than the level at the input of the unit. The effect does not have an output trim control. I'd like to be able to trim the level before going on to the next stage.

One way I've found is to use something like a Booster pedal, with no gain and flat tone - just adjusting the volume - but that alters the tone just a bit. All I really want is one knob - volume - without affecting the tone at all at a given point in the chain.

      Any suggestions?

(This is FX 2, Elite, Mac.)

You can add any EQ and keep it flatlined, and adjust the volume.

EQ is a good one. Volume pedal is really useful too and just set it to a fixed value; obviously it only works to reduce levels though. The mixer level control is good too depending on where you need to adjust.

@mike @Felix : I wish Bias FX had a dedicated level for each block, TBH. It is a mess right now... when I download stuff from tonecloud in particular it is a big problem.

Yeah, that works great, good suggestion.

It took me a while to find it though, seeing as how the volume pedal is hidden away under "EQ" for some reason. :-)

            Thanks.
