I now need to know the history of this Hawaiian music. And by that I mean, where did it originate?
When you look at the map you can see surrounding cultures, but none of them sound anything like this.
Interestingly, there are similarities between this and the folkloric music of the Yucatán peninsula. Which is strangely on the other side (Atlantic)
But I digress. This is awesome and a breath of fresh air

I'm the worst hawaiian ever, I can barely swim, don't drink, and can't stand the taste of fish, but there are a lot of historians that can tell you quite a bit about this type of music. Fran Guidry would be a great person to ask. Not sure if he's a BIAS user (yet)
