Static/White Noise Behind Note. Spark Mini.
-
I've recently purchased a Spark Mini. Upon playing it, I noticed a static/white noise behind the guitar note that sounds something like "shhhhhhhhhhhhhP". It sustains and sharply fades. It is not present during the entire duration of the note/chord and isn't present at all when the guitar isn't being played. I tried multiple guitars and multiple cables. I even went back to Guitar Center and had them open up two more units that acted exactly the same. I did do a firmware update on the one I own. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's really annoying and I can't see it being innate to the design.

Here is a clip of the noise. Is no one else experiencing this static sound while they're playing?

@brian-dam Yep I have that also. I cannot stand it. I am returning this and searching for another product. Too bad I really want to like this.

I also have this, randomly but not very strongly. I changed my cable for one with a very strong insulation (not sure of the english word) and it got a lot better.
I also noticed I can have this if my cable are crossing other cables (especially the usb cable I use to charge the Spark).
Also, sometimes I need to turn the knobs on my bass min to max a few times, otherwise I got some audio cracks. When it happens, the white noise on the Spark Mini comes along - -' -
Someone mentioned in another similar post to play with different amps / effects to see any changes, which I recommend too.

Check your power source: Ensure that you're using a reliable power supply and that it's properly grounded. Sometimes, issues with electrical grounding can introduce noise into the signal chain.
Experiment with different power outlets: Try plugging your Spark Mini into a different power outlet in your home or studio. Electrical interference or grounding issues in a specific outlet could contribute to the noise problem.
Isolate potential sources of interference: Move your Spark Mini away from other electronic devices and cables to minimize the possibility of electromagnetic interference. This includes keeping it away from power cables, Wi-Fi routers, fluorescent lights, and other potential sources of electrical noise.
Test different guitar cables: Even though you mentioned trying multiple cables, it's worth double-checking with additional high-quality cables to ensure the issue isn't caused by a faulty cable.
Verify your guitar's electronics: If you haven't already, try plugging your guitars directly into an amplifier or another audio interface to see if the noise issue persists. This step will help determine if the problem lies with the Spark Mini or the guitars themselves.
Contact Positive Grid support: If you've exhausted all the troubleshooting steps and the issue still persists, it's best to reach out to Positive Grid's customer support directly. They should have specific knowledge about their products and can provide guidance or further assistance.

I complained about this same issue when I bought the amp a year ago. They offered me a replacement but I knew this wasn't a malfunction, it's a problem with all units. So I put up with it, but I don't love it. I wish they would fix it.
