Just Playing around with the Spark ...

So what I'm finding with the app control is:
- sometimes, the volume jumps when changing patches. You can't edit the patch directly to turn down the volume - must be done on the amp
- for some patches the volume surges, then the sustain dies un-naturally
- Can't figure out how to create my own preset from scratch
Are those accurate takeaways? Unfortunately there isn't a lot of tutorial videos out there (just unboxing and demonstrations).

Depends on the master and gain levels in the patch. it will fluctuate the volume
-
Sustain is likely getting killed by the noise filter level.
-
not sure ...don't have my amp yet.

Thanks, interesting - never considered the noise filter levels. It would be great (and intuitive) if we can take a setting we like, save as and then edit it. Editing only appears possible with the positive grid settings. It just takes playing around with it I guess.

- Is this when previewing presets on tonecloud? The settings change when you select a preset, but to edit you need to download the preset first. See directions for preset management here: https://help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002263432
That should also answer your question 3 - to create a new preset, start from an existing preset then edit and save it.

@atlast @lcouri @diegofiorillo-uk I have my amp and have been playing around with it for a good few weeks. As @diegofiorillo-uk comments, the volume may jump between patches depending on how it's been set. This is common across many amp modelling devices. It's possible to balance all the levels with a bit of time and patience.
The sustain dying bothered me a lot at first until I saw how the noise gate was set. It's minimal on some patches and on full tilt on others. It's set high on the patches where the amp is high gain. I've managed to adjust the patches I use most, so it works the way I want.
Creating presets is exactly as @lcouri said. It's not quite as easy to do as Bias FX2 mobile, but not too bad.If I get around to producing a tutorial/demo I will share with you.

@tuck60 I'd be interested in knwoing how to create from scratch, i'd assumed we did it via BIAS FX/BIAS Amp but they are not integrated to the amp for some reason.

@babel17 Sorry, I probably wasn't that clear. Select any patch and then you will have to edit it. You can then save it as a new patch. The limiting thing I have seen so far is that whilst you can edit each part of the patch e.g. selecting drive and replacing it with any of the 9 drive pedals and then edit the tone/drive/volume etc. you can't alter the order of the pedals (a useful tip is that you can flick the pedals upwards in the chain to turn them off and down to turn them back on again - I was trying to turn them on and off via the virtual led on each pedal which is a bit of a challenge when you are using a small screen iPhone SE)
The order is GATE - COMP - DRIVE - AMP - MOD - DELAY - REVERB. Obviously you can turn each of them off, but you can't change the order or add to this order (so you couldn't have a Booster followed by a tube screamer - there is only one of each type allowed in the chain).
The BIAS FX/AMP is not linked to the Spark, so the amp models and tone cloud settings for these won't work (yet - but I am hoping PG will add this).Hope this make things a bit clearer.

@tuck60 Ahhh gotcha. Thanks :)
