Spark 40 Preset Problem (blinking LED)
-
I have some trouble regarding my Spark 40 amp. When I plug my guitar in and select one of the 4 presets, (some are saved on the hardware using the app, some are the default presets), they get switched off or changed without me using any of the knobs, besides the Output knob. Right after selecting the preset, the LED on the slot lights up (doesn't blink) and the sound corresponds to the preset I saved. But after a while, the LED starts blinking and the sound either dies away/drops or gets louder (without me regulating the output). Like I said: after selecting the preset, I don't modify the sound, only the volume. After playing for a few minutes, the volume drops or gets higher and the LED on the presets blinks. This happens regardless if I connected the Spark app to the amp or not.
Does anyone have a similar problem or does somebody know, what I should do to fix this? (I already tried updating the firmware and doing a factory reset. It didn't help.)

Does it happen when using the Spark stand-alone, without starting the App? -

Hi Dan,
thank you for your reply and interest. Unfortunately yes, it happens either way.I also tried using the app from two different devices (iPhone and iPad). I've already tried four different cables and bought a new (better) one last week. I've tried it with two guitars (one electric and one acoustic). It happens with every hardware configuration.
So it must be the amp :( -

I agree that it’s the amplifier. Based on recent forum issues, PG may have component thermal issues where a specific component or components fail after they heat up in the circuit. Once it fails, or the amp is turned off, the component(s) cool down, and can return to an in-spec condition.I’d immediately open a ticket if the amp is still under warranty…
