Disappointed

Hi. I’ve had Bias Fx 2 for a while now. My intention was to substitute my pedal board using Bias Fx and a midi commander. I used the return input on my Peavey Bandit to bypass the preamp on the amp. I was excited by the prospect after viewing lots of you tube recommendations. Sadly I’ve gone back to my pedals. Following the set up instructions for the audio and midi, experimenting with the amps available and the Pedal effects, I tried to convince myself the tones were good. But they just didn’t cut it. For example I compared the distortion tones to what I have on my basic 7 watt Boss Katana and the lead channel on my bandit. There is something inherently disappointing in the tones. They sound almost toy-like, lack real body, don’t carry harmonics well. I had to add an equalizer to every chain to get anywhere near a reasonable tone. Out of all the pedal effects available I only found a few which were useful albeit still disappointing. I feel this software is designed for a studio recording input and not for a stage. Furthermore using an iPad was not ideal. You are reliant on it’s battery life and the lightning plug from the midi controller is flimsy. A small knock and you’re offline. Not good on stage. The noise generated from a live reconnection is terrifying. I will not be asking for my money back. I’m curious to know if anyone else had a similar experience. Thoroughly enjoying the tones from my pedal board again.
