I have no luck connecting my android phone spark app to tone control.It works great on my ipad, but not on my android. I have android 11 and should not be a problem, but im not having any luck. Please tell me what is going wrong. I have tried all the troubleshooting that I have researched. I love the amp. but without phone app access this is an expensive paper weight

@davesmusicmania I'm having same issue with android not connecting to amp controls. Bluetooth sounds work fine.
-
I also have the same problems. Android 11. A million bluetooth devices connect, Spark Mini doesn't. :-(

I have Spark Mini on Latest firmware v1.9.2.34 - and connects fine with Samsung Galaxy S10+ - running Android 12
Spark app Version 2.9.0.5732
The Google Play Store "upgraded " prior version - crashes on startup
Uninstalled then side loaded the APK MIRROR version here
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/positive-grid-inc/spark-amp-smart-jam-chords/spark-amp-smart-jam-chords-2-9-0-5732-release/
Which Works on Android 12I enable Bluetooth on Phone
I power on Spark Mini and then tap the PAIR button on rear of Spark MiniI launch the SPARK android app
It instructs "Pair the SPARK MINI
all works

Update for the problem with my Android app. The service is very friendly and a new version for the Android app is on its way in the next days. Think positive.
@elantric
The APK Mirror version is the same that I installed from the SPARK website, so unfortunately, your hint did not help. Thank you anyway! -
Unfortunately the update did not help. The situation now: recommendation to purchase a different tablet. So still no recommendation to buy a SPARK for an Android device without testing upfront!

@rob-3
You’re probably already aware of this; however, it was a mystery and surprise to me and other forum members when the Spark Tone Control was first released… The Tone Control links and works through the Spark App, and the Spark App has to remain active to maintain the Bluetooth link. If you don’t open the app, or you pull up another app to play or control backing tracks, then the Spark App moves to “Background”, and Tone Control loses the link and stops working. I run the Spark App on an iPad, and have to use ‘split screen’ to keep both apps “Active” to maintain the Tone Control Bluetooth link. -
@dan-lawrence Yes, thank you, I already realized that. :-)

@ybarlavie
Which Spark?
I have never had a problem using android with my Spark 40s. I must admit that I do not push with all that the amp is supposed to do. Usually playing with backing tracks. I did buy a iPad mini because of the Spark Mini issues. No help there but I have noticed what seems to be improved performance with the 40s.Point of interest, I have many amps and my favorite is a Dumble Clone called a Ceriatone. Since the Spark 40, it doesn't get near the run time.
