I've tried several times, following all directions (not my first update and all others went through with no issues).

Stops at 2% and shows Error code - 1.

      Windows 11 22H2 completely updated.

My attempts to update have been failing with "Error Code -2". Tried on both Windows and Mac.

@matthew-gruskin I ended up using an old laptop that wasn't completely updated (Windows 10) and it updated on the first try. Maybe a conflict with something in the latest Windows updates?

@matthew-gruskin same here, its very glitchy to try update firmware with this Spark MINI firmware 1.9.2.34
            on windows 10
it took me several try before it finally start the upgrade and fail at 2% with error code -2...
            i tried with both driver
            PositiveGrid_MINI_UsbAudio_v5.50.0
            and
            ASIO4ALL_2_15

what a pain from this compagnie, it should do driver and updrade from the same software and be functional..

@boctok55 Any luck with the firmware update? I am getting error codes: 40, -2, 65535, 13. I have made several requests to PositiveGrid, but no reply.

I have successfully updated Spark Mini with firmware 1.9.2.34 under Windows 11 Home 22H2. Here is my description of what I did.

                  1. Update your Spark App on your mobile.
                  2. Make sure your Spark Mini is NOT connected to the computer.
                  3. Turn on Spark Mini.
                  4. Shutdown and restart Spark Mini. To do that follow the instructions on the "Force Shutdown and Restart" page carefully! You will find the page under Support "Spark Mini" and "Troubleshooting".
                  5. Make sure you have administrator rights on your computer. If not, log out and log in with a user that has administrative privileges.
                  6. Download firmware on your Windows computer.
                  7. Use Windows Explorer to right-click the downloaded file. A context menu appears: choose "Properties". A new window appears: set "Allow" under "Security". After that click "OK" to exit the "Properties" window.
                  8. Do NOT double-click on the downloaded file. Instead, right-click the downloaded file and in the context menu click "Extract All". A new window appears: just click on "Extract". A new directory is created.
                  9. Go to the newly created directory and inside go to the directory that contains the "Run Spark MINI Firmware Updater.bat" file.
                  10. Do NOT double-click on the "Run Spark MINI Firmware Updater.bat" file. Instead, right-click the file and in the context menu click "Run as Administrator".
                  11. For further steps follow the instructions on the "Spark MINI Firmware Update" page carefully!

                  Attention!
The firmware update also includes an update of the Bluetooth firmware. After the firmware update, you may need to renew your Bluetooth connection.

After my successful firmware update I had problems with the Bluetooth connection. I had no connection between the mobile and the updated Spark. So I deleted the existing Bluetooth connection to the Spark Mini on my mobile and then created a new connection.
If you still have problems with the bluetooth connection, follow the instructions on the "Connection Issues" page carefully! You will find the page under Support "Spark Mini" and "Troubleshooting".

All in all, this firmware update is not easy for computer laypersons.
                  Finally everything worked!

I too had the same problem and error code at 2% completion. My laptop has Windows 10. Solution = Successful when running the updater as administrator (right click on the updater file and select run as administrator). Hope that this helps !

                    Regards

                    Chris

@boctok55 Same here with Win server 2019, but in a VM. But it was successful at first try in a Windows 10 config (physical machine).

I had the same problem on Mac. It finally worked when I turned off bluetooth on my phone. I guess the update doesn't work on mac if there's a bluetooth connection (?).

Another tip... make sure the MINI is sufficiently charged. I kept getting failures when I tried to update the firmware out of the box. Then I charged it for about an hour and it updated just fine.

@boctok55 I'm having the same issue. New Spark Mini, followed both the support site, firmware updater, and below instructions very carefully, but the update process refuses to advance past 2%.

Tough to see no reply from the company on this.

@matrod Strangest thing - I was trying to update using a known-good USB-C cable. Decided to dig up the original USB A-C cable the amp came with... and firmware update proceeded without a hitch.

Might be worth a shot for others having the same issue
