Bias fx 2 crash windows 11
-
Hey all,
I have been using bias fx 2 as both standalone and as a vst in daw's.
But i've just built a new pc 6 month back and installed windows 11, and the application keeps crashing (bsod), when i try to use it both from standalone version but also from daw's.It happens when the application tries to open, it stays a little while on the loading screen, then it just goes to blue screen of death (bsod).
I have tried deleting the folders which has already been suggested by Positive grid, the %appdata%/positive grid one and such.

Did you upgrade your windows 10, to Windows 11?
Crash report lists "OSNAME: Windows 10"
May have been an issue with the upgrade to your PC.. If it was an upgrade, you may need to back up all data, format the drive and get a fresh install of just windows 11..

I think you have Windows Operating system issues.

@compman67 Hey compman67 thank you for taking the time to answer.
The windows installation is a clean installation of windows 11. The version you refer to is still w11
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/586619/windows-11-build-ver-is-still-10022000194.htmlAs for the corruption of the data, i have no clue as to what caused it, says the process NisSrv.exe caused it, but that is the microsoft defender realtime inspection.
Could it be because i don't have a integrated graphic card, and therefore it fails to load GUI?

@emil-rauff-andersen
Got the application able to not bsod my computer, when i deactivated my windows defender, and used reaper to load the vst. Seems like realtime virus protection didn't want to cooperate with bias. Now bias fx 2 is stuck on the loading screen, but the audio goes through with effects. Tried to delete the relative folders /documents/positive grid & /%appdata%/positive grid and launch the application again same result.

Okay, I get it...
NisSrv.exe
"Older""Not officially part of windows"
That explains why it shows Windows 10 in the logs you posted..
"If you’ve opened Task Manager in Windows, you might see some process and wonder what they are doing. Here’s a look at NisSrv.exe, why it’s running, and if it’s safe.
NisSrv.exe is also known as Microsoft NetworkRealtime Inspection Service. That’s a fancy way of saying that is part of Microsoft Malware Protection or Microsoft Security Essentials on older PCs.
The software is created by Microsoft and is known to be safe. However, it can cause issues with your computer and cause slowness if it gets corrupted.
It’s not “officially” part of Windows, but it is important. On older systems you should be able to find it in the subdirectory C:\Program Files. It does not appear on the taskbar and does not need to be visible by Windows. If you don’t want it, you can use Control Panel to completely remove it. However, it is known to be safe and an important part of your malware protection on Windows 7 machines still running MSE. You won’t find it in Windows 10."
