Footswitch issues with music

I’ve found a really frustrating issue I can’t seem to fix. I’ll connect my phone and footswitch without issue to the amp. Everything works fine until I try playing music from my phone to jam along with. The music skips and pauses constantly, but the footswitch works normally. I can disconnect the footswitch, and then music playback works normally again. It’s maddening I cannot use footswitch when trying to play with music. I have reset the amp, software is all up to date, have reset all Bluetooth settings on my phone. Has anyone else had this problem? And ideas to fix this?

I don’t use my Controller very often anymore; however, I have not experienced your problem. I can play songs and backing tracks from both Music and AnyTune on my iPad while using the Spark Controller and my Spark 40. I did learn that if I don’t use Split Screen, the Controller will lose the Bluetooth connection if I switch from the Spark App to Music or AnyTune. Split screen keeps both apps active; however, in this case it’s the Controller that drops out, not the music. I am assuming you are listening to your music through the Spark Amp, and not directly from your iPhone.

Sorry for the late reply, I've only just noticed your question.
I had a similar problem when I got my spark controller. The solution for me, (running the spark app off an iPhone) was to install an app called "Airturn". You can use this to update the footswitch firmware and settings but, most crucial for me, was to change the latency setting for the Spark Controller.
I'm away from my Spark setup at the moment so can't check, but I seem to recall it was to increase the latency (counter intuitively). Whichever, it was to change the default away from where it was. Worked (and continues to work) for me.
Hope that helps. If not let me know and when I get back I'll check the settings.

Not to sure this controller is worth the money...
You can set it up as "a preset selector" where each footswitch is a preset. (What an expensive waste for most people)
You can set it up as "an FX selector" this is marginally better.
... but then you cannot select a preset...
DO NOT make the mistake that I made of having FS1=next preset and FS2=prev. This is just a waste. Set FS1 to next and the the three others to FX. Why? There are ONLY 4 presets so the next switch loops around eg 1-2-3-4-1
On my Fender GTX amp a footswitch can be held to cycle from presets to FX to tuner. Surely the PG controller can be programmed to cycle preset - FX mode = 4xpresets, 4xFX
Also which genius said lets only make it work when you have the app turned on. If you go gigging with your 4 presets surely it should work standalone as does the amp!
