Spark mini speaker distortion on clean tones
-
I’m wondering if anyone else is getting this weird distortion from clean tones. Mostly having trouble with “ambient ice cave” and “clean jazzy” but it seems to do it with all the full bodied clean sounds. It happens a lot with the fender models as well. When I switch the eq scenario to acoustic then it become more pronounced. I don’t hear it in my headphones so I don’t think it’s digital distortion. I’m using overwound single coils but they’re not particularly hot, especially by modern standards.
When I got the amp I youtube’d a frequency sweep video to test it and I did pump some very low and very high signal through the amp and I’m wondering if I damaged it.
Or could it be that this is just the nature of a tiny 2” speaker? I wouldn’t be surprised at all if that were the case, and I just didn’t push it hard in the first weeks I had it. I’ve been able to tame the presets but adjusting amp gain and mixing down delays and reverbs. Anybody else getting this rattling/buzzing speaker distortion? -
@schirom00 I got my Spark Mini yesterday and today while playing to get good clean tones, I heard that I couldn’t get rid of distortion easily. It seems that there is not enough headroom. The only way I got good clean tones was reducing gain and volume everywhere but now the guitar is not any loud.
I played music and the amp is loud enough for a party at home, but the guitar is soft when I tried to get a clean sound. If I increase the volume anywhere, it will break immediately even with the JC or Blackface Duo.
