I just received my Spark Control. It connected fine. I have updated my Spark amp firmware. When I use the controler with a background track the track is choppy. The volume drops out every second or so. When I turn the Control off it works fine. I'm using an Ipad and it has the latest I.O.S. Any info would help. Thanks..

Same issue for me with ipad pro, spark 40 and spark control. If not fixable will look to return it as unusable.

Same problem here on iPad Pro. Without spark control playback of YouTube is fine. With spark control connected, the playback is choppy and not usable. The whole point for me to buy the Spark and it’s control is to learn with YouTube. Nice I can control the playback with the Spark control. But is is useless now.

Try using split screen on the iPad to keep both the Spark App and another app “active” at the same time. The Bluetooth signal path goes through the Spark App, and drops out when you switch to another app to control songs/backing tracks. Split Screen allowed me to keep the Controller linked and working while using AnyTune for my tracks.

@dan-lawrence thanks. It is the controller itself which is causing the choppy playback. Not me switching between apps.

Sorry to hear that. I got the choppy sound when I switched away from the Spark App, and concurrently lost the Controller link.

Are you using YouTube within the Spark App, or as a separate, second app?

@steve-peters My solution that really works on my iPad is a USB3 to 3,5 mm jack dongle. I connect the iPad with the input auxiliary on the back of the spark 40. No BT connection with spark audio.

Now my Spark control works like charm, using 1 and 2 for stomp boxes and 3 for 10 sec rewind and 4 for play back speed. No choppy volume anymore. No delay between video and sound.
