How do I load my own backing tracks?
-
I love the backing tracks and the ability to loop them. I've built several of my own backing tracks in Reaper and would like to be able to play and loop them. I can download them to my tablet but I'm not seeing a way within the Spark app to load these.
I notice that the existing backing tracks are on YouTube. I guess I could upload my tracks to my YouTube account and leave them as "unlisted" if I could find a way to enter the URL to my tracks directly. But I'm not seeing a way to do that in the Spark app either.
I'd appreciate any ideas you may have on how to do this.

@greg-brouelette You can just play them outside of the spark app and the audio will stream over bluetooth. But may lose control of amp outside of app

If you are using an iPad and use split screen, you can do both. Figured this out when I bought a Spark Controller. I use AnyTune for backing tracks/songs, and can control loops, etc. as long as both the Spark App and AnyTune (or your app of choice) are ‘active’ using split screen. -
Have to say that I find this quite disappointing. One of the key reasons I bought the Spark Amp was the ability to jam to backing tracks. I have a heap of my own backing tracks that I have added to Spotify as local files. However whenever I try to access them through the Spark App it plays a normal YouTube version of the full song, not my backing track...is this something I can't change or is it operator error?

@hilly11648 I've not tried for long, but found I had to upload to YouTube to get the app to play it, otherwise I was playing it using a different app/device. I have a sneaky suspicion that the chord recognition is done by a server, not locally, and parses the YouTube link and sends back the results. It might not be that, but I can't find another reason it would be so 'wedded' to YouTube.
It does at least get rid of the adds.
