Say Hello To Spark MINI
-
Hey Spark Crew,
If you haven't heard, we introduced MINI as part of the Spark Family today! Compared to Spark 40 (think of 40 as the 40-watt version with immersive, room-filling sound, and full range on-board control) Spark MINI as is its battery-powered, go-anywhere companion - with big, beautiful multi-dimensional sound (especially for how small it is). They both function as Bluetooth® speakers too - but Spark MINI is easier to grab and take on the go. Same app, same smart features!
We just launched sign-ups for early bird sales which will start in March, you can check all the info out here: https://www.positivegrid.com/spark-mini
Hit me with any questions!

@caitlyn-mcguire Really? I have not read anyone saying it needs to be smaller, but tons of people wishing it were larger with 2x10, or 12s. Smaller…….no.

@jonrdamesr We hear you, and definitely are taking the feedback seriously. We do recognize however that we have a huge population of guitarist looking for a small travel amp like this. Not only is this amp something fun for experience or touring guitar players, but for new guitarist, people who are looking to improve their playing, or people looking to just jam more! We're grateful to have experienced a lot of positive feedback about MINI. So while we understand it isn't exactly what everyone is looking for (and we're working on creating products to fi those needs), we know this product will help a lot of musicians!

@caitlyn-mcguire
Does the Mini use the same firmware protocols, requiring a PC or MacBook? And with the Spark App? -
@dan-lawrence Yes! Also, check out the FAQs here for more info: https://www.positivegrid.com/spark-mini

Does the Blue tooth foot control work with the new mini?

@caitlyn-mcguire Can the Spark Mini be used as an iOS compatible audio interface as well over USB? The original Spark clearly says 'no' in their FAQ. Compare this to your product page for the Mini that says 'or any DAW software or platform'. Does any platform include iOS?
Also can you explain how the 'Smart out/line out' functionality works. Does this mean I can take a mono 1/8th inch to 1/4th cable and run it into say an effects loop return jack or power amp in? Or should you use a mono summing cable with in-line 1k ohm resistors?

"Hit me with any questions" Then ghosts the discussion completely. I hope everything is OK with Caitlyn. Other PG employees should have jumped in if Caitlyn could not respond to questions. I do understand that you are not obligated at all to answer my questions, but I only asked because you asked people to reach out.
Makes me worry how well the Spark Mini will be supported when nobody from the company will even come forward during the marketing/pre-sale stage of the product to answer questions on their own forum.
