Firmware Update Issues
-
Updated to the latest firmware (1.6.5.160) today. Firmware update went smoothly, connected to the Spark with the app and the new features were there (tuner, tap tempo etc), all my presets were there but all sounded like no effect blocks were present (amp, delay, mod, etc) Checked that they weren't disabled in the app, but they were active according to the app. Restored presets from cloud - all there and sounded ok for about 20 seconds then back to no effect blocks again. Turned Spark off and on again and presets were back again... for another 20 seconds or so then gone again.
Did a fresh firmware update but same issue. went back to last firmware update (lucky I archived it) and all now working fine again with no issues.
Looks like there may be an issue with the latest firmware update. -
@pentel I had the same issue after the latest firmware update. A factory reset of the Spark amp fixed it.

good morning. I have update my positive grids to new firmware version, and now I can't connect my app on iPhone with hardware positive grids. Message is "Disconnected" Please checkyour Bluetooth connection and try again.

@massimiliano-sacco same problem, no connection Btooth after the last update

Same issue as OP. My internal hardware updates are no longer working properly. If I turn off the amp they will come back, but switch to another one and it will reset itself to some clean / non-descript patch.
The presets are correctly named and showing in the app but selecting them again does not call up their internal settings. Only get the "real" settings back if I turn off the amp and select via buttons only.
I noticed that when I have the app connected and try to switch presets via the buttons on the amp, it says something like "XXX BPM Preset" in a little pop up bubble lower LHS of the screen, which it never did before.

Rolling back to 1.5.4.102 with the old updater resolved the issue as OP pointed out

Same issue as Massimiliano and Paolo, after the update I can no longer connect to the Spark in Bluethooth for "Tone Control". Bluetooth connection to Spark for audio works.
-
@paolo-abba You have to do a factory reset to wake up the connection. Worked for me and several others here.

I performed a factory reset to fix the "Failed to Connect" error I kept receiving from the iOS app after updating to the latest firmware and iOS app. This fixed the issue that I experienced trying to connect the app to the Spark amp..

@rockpommelsland
Yes...same issue but only with this latest firmware...previous firmware update, I had no issues and was able to connect bluetooth straight after the update.This last one, could not connect after trying all the usual steps, turn off/turn on the iPhone, same with the amp itself, deleted the app, re-installed...nothing..only the factory re-set got the latest firmware with connection matched.

What are the latest changes with the firmware update..??

@kenny-boze
sorry...I just found them..my bad:
The (much requested) in-app tuner
Tap Tempo feature for modulation and delay pedals
Creative Control for Spark Control users introducing custom wah features
Experience Jimi Hendrix™ pack users can now simultaneously use the J.H. Legendary Wah with Vintage Delay or Echo Tape pedal -
@pentel
This brings up a question for me.....as I mentioned, I did a recent firmware update and the connection problem happened. I did a factory re-set and got the connection back going. Does that mean I have to re-do that latest firmware 1.6..?I can see the problem happening again and this being an endless circle...
any ideas..?
