Save all settings (Android)
-
Love my Spark, and I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I really don't understand why something as simple as "Save all settings" isn't available.
Please, Positive Grid, give us an "Export/Import" capability that creates an archive so we can save and restore all settings from the app.
- I've downloaded and modified 20 or 30 tones. I would need to upload and rename them, then mark them all as favorites, remember their categories, etc.
- I have an Android phone and tablet - I would have to do the above for all of them. If something ever happens to my phone, I'll be spending days getting things back the way they were.
- I understand that you want to encourage sharing - admirable. But the inability to save all settings is a huge gap in the product, and one that I would be sure to note when advising others on a purchase. I have a friend that uses the Spark in small venues as a duo - he's very concerned as well.
- If for some reason you want to keep the format of the settings proprietary (I don't know why you would - more open means more functionality from others), then use some binary format.
Ok, so others have begged and nothing has come of it. Can someone at Positive Grid please explain the reasoning? I've been a software engineer for a long time, and I'll bet the engineers at PG understand how braindead this is. Is this management? What's the deal?
