Error logging onto my Spotify account
-
Hi,
I'm using a mobile device (Google Pixel 4a) with android version 12. If I try to connect the Spark Amp app to my Spotify account, I can actually log on but when I go back to the Spark App I get the following error:
Spotify Login Failed (type: empty, state: null)
What's wrong? I also just updated the amp firmware to the latest version 1.5.4.102.

Btw, it works perfectly with my wife's iPad. But then, I don't have access to my Spotify playlists!

Have you compared ‘Bluetooth Sharing’ settings between the two iPads? I don’t use Spotify; however I’ve solved several issues between my wife’s and my iPads/iPhones with a side-by-side comparison of settings, particularly after an update. -
@dan-lawrence Thanks for the suggestion. However, I'm trying to connect the amp to a Pixel 4a phone running Android 12. I tried to update the apps on my phone last night, but to no avail.

Oops, my bad! You mentioned that in your original post 😎Are you logging into Spotify from inside the Spark App, or externally. I seem to remember a couple threads suggesting that recent Security upgrades affected the Spotify login protocol.
I had a similar problem with my iPhone, which I seldom use with the Spark 40/App. AnyTune worked through the App on the Spark 40 using my iPad, but not through my iPhone 6s. Turned out I had to fully turn off my iPad for the Spark 40 ‘music’ connection to work, even though everything on the phone showed it was paired. Either the Spark 40 or the iPad kept reconnecting and overriding the iPhone connection.
It also appeared that I needed to follow a very specific connection sequence between the Spark 40, the Spark App, and the Spark Control to play any Spark/external backing tracks using my iPhone. Go figure…

@dan-lawrence btw, to close the matter: either the Android app (2.3.0.4397) or the firmware (1.6.5.160) update solved the issue. Still, thanks for your feedback!
