Spark control needs spark app and has latency
-
Hi there,
I've just received the spark control and I have 2 issues with it:
-
I use my iphone or ipad and I have to have the spark app active on screen to use the footswitchcontoler and to switch to another preset. When I swipe away the spark app to start another app or safari But I have the spark app still active on the background, I won't be able to use the footcontroller and it does not respond any more. This makes it less flexible to open other apps and to still engage with your spark control.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? And does the same issue apply on the Airtstep controller that is not from positive grid? -
My second issue is that I detect some latency when switching to another preset with the spark control. This is specialy disturbing when you switch from your clean channel to distortion channel and vice versa.
Does anyone recognize this issue with the spark control and spark amp?
Regards,

Hi David, I have the same problem as you pointed out in item 2. What`s the fix? Have you figured it out? I don't see any response to your post. Would you mind sharing how did you fix it? Thank you! Rob

Does the Spark Control still need an app opened to work? this is disappointing and a pretty big restriction.

The Spark App must be active to maintain the Spark Controller Bluetooth signal path. On my iPad, I ‘split screen’ between the Spark App and my song/backing track app. Using split screen keeps both apps active; so the Spark Controller works, and I can still control my practice backing tracks real time. -

I have not noticed any latency running the Spark App on my iPad. However, I don’t use the Spark Controller very often. In my case, the Controller body is so narrow that I can’t rely on it to switch properly mid-song. And without status lights on each switch, there’s no immediate feedback to measure success… -
@david-paais I was afraid of that. I t sounded from what I read that the switch was mostly a controller for the app than working directly on the Spark.
