Studio One Prime - isn’t it free?
-
When yo buy Spark you get Studio One Prime with it. However, I see in Presonus website that Prime version is the poorest one and it is already free. What’s the deal with Spark then? Why they have a way to retrieve a licence for a product that I can get for free anyway?

@marcin-jahn
Not an uncommon practice. I’ve bought other equipment in the past, like an inexpensive keyboard controller, a stand-alone keyboard and an iRig interface and received promo or ‘free’ intro versions of software that were available through a number of different channels.It was a benefit for me to try something simple and uncomplicated using ‘free’ supporting programs before investing real money in expensive programs. I figured out early that I had neither the time nor interest in recording myself from just such a program. However, I also learned that I could probably do quite a bit with my PC if I ever do get interested…
I downloaded Studio One when I received my Spark 40; however I haven’t completed setup or tried it yet. I’m interested in your impression of the ease and quality of the end product.

@dan-lawrence Hi Dan. Well, actually I did not download it yet. I was more wondering if I'm missing something or misunderstanding? I just don't understand why Positive Grid is marketing the addition of Studio One Prime as a bonus to Spark when you can get it for free even without owning Spark.
