@caitlyn-mcguire
Thank you. Will a Spark Amp update be required? -
@dan-lawrence No update required

@dan-lawrence Hi Dan,
All orders will be shipped Monday and estimated shipping time is about 3 business days!
Hmm mine is still showing as awaiting fulfilment, did they not ship Monday? I was in the first 1000 (543472).

What will this pedal do, that the Airstep Spark version won’t?
-
I have an AirTurn BT200S — Spark Control looks to be a whitelabeled version of this product. It doesn't pair with Spark, though it's obviously possible. Here's to hoping Positive Grid makes that so.

@ramonster
FYI, I received an email from Positive Grid on Monday updating my order to ‘Shipped’, and an email from FedEx on Tuesday with tracking and delivery date information. I was around the 18th order; the pre-order page showed 17 of 1000 when I purchased mine. -
@dan-lawrence Thanks for the info Dan, seems like they didn't have anywhere near 1000 on hand then for the first batch. I went through a similar run around with the Spark on release, ended up cancelling and only recently grabbed a Spark Pearl. PG have some nice toys, but as a company... urgh.

@ramonster
Yes, I’ve sensed that since joining this forum.Based on my own experience, they could solve a lot of issues and misunderstandings with a good Tech Editor. I think I’ve performed three updates so far, and really had to focus and question each step. Instructions start with an old, legacy update page, and then seems to jump to a more current, instruction page with a slightly different step order.
I think I have their basic, core setup: PC-iPad/iPhone. This seems to match all of their instructional material and initial problem resolution steps. Glad I’m not dealing with a MacBook or Android setup…

@jonrdamesr The biggest differences are:
It's playback control. For YouTube videos you can Play/Pause, Rewind 10 seconds, Speed, jump etc.
The most important difference is its connectivity. Since it's made by us, it will always work with updates and new expansions (for example, Airstep doesn't work with our Hendrix pack.) There is an internet rumor going around that we are making it so outside party pedals like Airstep will not work with Spark in the future. That's not true at all, but we just can't always guarantee that an outside party product would work with ours, since we don't control their product. Simply put, the Spark Control is the only one guaranteed to always work with Spark and its updates.
Let me know if you have any other questions !

@ramonster Hey there,
We started with 3,000 Spark Controls on hand in the US when we released. We've just been releasing them in batches. We also released information saying that they were shipping the Monday after release (which is why Dan would have gotten his FedEx confirmation on Tuesday). The next batch of 2,000 which are currently in the US will ship mid December, I can let you guys know exactly that date when I know it, I just haven't gotten any word about it. UK/UE takes a little longer because the controls are made in the US, so we have to ship them to our distribution center there, then to each customer.
I'm here to answer any of your questions, really. I've been monitoring what customers are saying and we're really trying to improve our customer service, starting with transparency. I get it's been frustrating. So anything you want to know, just hit me with it. I don't always have all of the answers, but I'll try my best to find them for you and tell you what I do know now.

@caitlyn-mcguire Ok, I was number roughly 418 of 1000 in the US only first pre-release batch (48 hour early link release).
-
@ramonster Have you received a FedEx number? Or it's just telling you that it's waiting fulfillment. I know some people are saying that it shows waiting fulfillment and then just shows up, so that may happen this week, but I can also check on the order for you. There shouldn't be any US delays that I know of.
-
@ramonster
I was number 167, my unit arrived this morning (Sat, Dec 11). I never did get a FedEx number and when I checked the status of my order (just now, after receiving it) it still says "Ready to Ship, should ship on Dec 5". Hang in there, it's likely in transit. -
Just wanted to chime in and say my order (542878), arrived today even though on my orders page it still says "Awaiting Fulfillment."

@caitlyn-mcguire
Spark Control delivered today (Saturday) at about 4:00 PM PST. Wrapped and under the tree. Not a lot of “how to use” included in the box. Hope there’s some ‘help’ documentation after I hook up with the app (per the included, laminated card). -
@dan-lawrence Glad it made it! Yes, and feel free to hit me with any questions. We'll also have an instructional video coming out this week.

@caitlyn-mcguire Hi Caitlin - have been able to connect my control with the app and the amp fine, and it works well in the app. However if I close the app, the foot pedal does not work. I assumed the Bluetooth to the Anp would still work and allow for, say, a different preset to be chosen the same as if I manually press buttons 1-4 on the amp. But I can't find a way for the pedals to do anything unless the app is open. Is this how it is meant to work?
Appreciate your help
Bec -
@bec_vaughan Hi there, that's correct, the app must be on and connected. We've seen maybe people using an iPad if they have it, that way they don't have to worry about their phone falling asleep while they're using the control.
-
@caitlyn-mcguire That is a deal breaker in my opinion. If I have the settings I like stored in my four presets, I shouldn’t need the app to use the pedal. The Airstep Spark does not have all the controls as the Spark Control, but it works without the app.

@jonrdamesr Thanks for the feedback! I'll make sure to tell the product team, we're working on updates for 2022.
