Bias FX2 locks all presets when used as a plug in
-
Hi all, I searched for this problem but couldn't find anything. I have elite level FX2. When I use it as a standalone, it works fine. But when I use it as my amp plug in using Reaper Cockos DAW, all the presets are locked and I can't use any of them. It's just stuck on the last preset I loaded.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled which allowed me access once again. I discovered that as soon as I download anything from soundcloud, this is when it starts. Then I have to go and delete all my presets which is a huge pain in the ass. Anyone else have this issue? Ready to give up on it altogether.

Yes the latest release has a bug because the same has happened to me with FX 2 Professional as a plug in with my Studio One daw. So, I contacted supported and went through three emails so far and made a video for them at their request. The support desk said he sent it to the sofware engineering team. I downgraded to the previous release and it works so latest release is the problem. You could also contact them and open a support ticket.

I'm using Bias FX2 pro with Cubase 11 pro and it seems to be working fine for me. I'm using the latest version of both, and I'm using a windows 10 pc. Strange bug for you guys, hope they fix it.

Yeah, I've had similar issues. I use Windows 10. I just went in my file explorer to downloads and I've still got the installation/setup zip file for a couple older versions ( I have Elite as well ). I just uninstalled the most recent version and re-installed an earlier version and back to business as usual. It seems this kind of thing happens alot when they release new versions of the software. Makes me weary to perform updates. I've even begun to check out other plug-ins. Won't say any names here out of respect for positive grid, but there is one I've found so far that I really enjoy that begins with an Amp. I'm still using my Bias FX2, but I don't know how much longer that will last. I can only use the Bias FX2 plugin on one track in my Reaper DAW. If I try to use the plugin for a second track, things get so noisy with the popping in and out and crackling, that it is completely pointless. Believe this has something to do with the fact that you have to be signed in to the Tone Cloud and online in order to utilize its entire functionality. This is a downside because that takes up a good bit of memory alone, then when you have to run a relatively complex program like Reaper, using a complex plugin such as Bias FX2, it's alot to ask a computer to do at once. I have a brand new 12GB HP PC with Windows 10 and an i7 processor that I use ONLY for recording (so, NO other programs or software installed EVER, aside from Reaper and Amp Sim and/or effects program or 2) and I still have this problem, which is absolutely insane as my computer should easily be overkill for such tasks. This was the main reason I tried the other program, and I was blown away when I realized I could use it for 3 and 4 tracks (or more, just haven't had a need to go that deep, at least not yet) with no sacrifice to my tone/sound in my recordings/tracks. Would love to see Positive Grid resolve this issue somehow. Most individuals purchase Bias FX2 for use as a plugin for recording VS simply the standalone. It seems to me, the longer I've had it, the more I find reasons I wished I had not spent the money for the Elite, or possibly even invested in a different plugin tool all together. I've begun to suspect Positive Grid spend more time and money in marketing than they do actually creating/improving solid, usable amp/effects sims.

Thanks for the replies all. I've been back and forth a few times with support and ultimately fixed the issue.
1st they had me delete the Bias FX2 folder and rename the backup folder as such, which did not help. Then I simply deleted the plug in from each track and re-added it, which worked. It was a simple fix, although I have a fear this will not be the last time I deal with an issue. Hope I'm wrong though.

Damnit Jim!! I'm a guitarist, not an audio engineer! I need programs and software that function! Not stuff that I have to spend an hour negotiating every time I go to record a track! lol
I feel you brother. I hope I'm out of the woods with my issues as well, but something tells me its not going to be that easy... We shall see.
