So an afternoon free to jam but my Spark 40 wants new firmware. Well that went great... the update closed itself after saying it was updating. The amp then has 5 blinking red lights. Great, no audio out of it at all. The update run again can't even read the serial number of the amp and trying again updates now fail with that message.

The app tells me it can't connect as incorrect firmware.

The solution for me was to download the 1.2 firmware update. I did run this from a different laptop tho and this got my amp into a working state.

I then updated to 1.4 firmware and this also went through just fine.

      Hope it helps someone else.

Thanks!I have the same issue, but I can't get an updater to recognize the amp from any computer. Even the mini jack is inoperative. Glad it went well.

Ah sorry to hear it didn't sort the issue for you. Have you had any luck with Positive Grid support?

The firmware updates need a fail safe so it reverts to the current version rather than hanging mid process and locking the amp up.

●●● just seen you got it sorted, good news ●●●

I have the blinking lights with no sound. The update in the link provided here didn't change my version. What should I do now?

@tolbert5963 Wow that was scary! I did a factory reset and all is fine now.
