Spark 40: Clean sound
-
How do I get a clean sound? I like to start from a known place. I have the dial set to clean and when I play a string of notes, the last one is ‘clipped’.
Any help will be appreciated.

I am also on a quest for a base clean sound for my HSS Strat. A lot depends on the guitar you are using. I have Les Paul Traditional and the Strat that I play equally. Found base Clean and Crunch tones for the LP very quickly.Been searching and testing Presets for the Strat since I received my Spark about a week ago, and it’s been a struggle. I narrow down the list to various Presets I like, and then when I play them with original songs, they don’t match nearly as well as the LP with its preset.
My approach has been to experiment with the Spark Amp Clean and Glassy Amp Knob and App default Presets. I “save as new” the ones I seem to like, and start adjusting things from there. I also tried searching ToneCloud for favorite artists or songs; however quickly realized that I had volume and excessive reverb issues when playing most ToneCloud Presets with my rig.
My struggle is finding the right balance of Treble (and Mids???) that cuts through the mix without being painfully bright or taking center stage.
On the positive side, I am (mostly) having fun in the hunt.

@jkstratford I went to the tutorials and found what I was missing.

to see the hardware presets the computer must be connected. This is a usability issue. I much prefer to have features (menu items) that aren’t available due to the current state of the software system to grayed out instead missing. That lets me know what is possible.

Once I figured out how the presets worked, it’s a matter of turning off all the pedal to get the ‘clean’ setup.
