Info to connect headphones output
-
Hi,
I need a info.
I want to connect the spark headphones output to an input interface audio USB like Scarlett.
Can I do it with a normal cable or I need a Y cable to split from stereo to mono and connect to Scarlett one of 2 mono jack?
Someone can help me, please?

@coloxim I come out of the spark into a morley A/B switch and then run both A and B into the inputs on the Scarlet. Used a summing cable and was kind of dull sound so just went with a standard 1/8 x 1/4 cable from headphone jack to switch and sounds great

@nwfungi thanks for reply, but i don't have a switch... I've to put in scarlet only A or B with a Y cable?
I don't know.. if I use a simple cable from.stereo to mono, can I damage something?

@coloxim You should buy a Y cable that has a 1/8" stereo plug to go into the headphone jack on the Spark and two 1/4" phone plugs on the other end to go into two channels on the audio interface to go into your computer.

@coloxim This is the type of Y cable you want, maybe a different left/right connector but you want a stereo cable that splits the signal to left and right. This is what I am using, and I bought adapters for the correct L/R plugs. Hosa YMM-261 3.5 mm TRS to Dual 3.5 mm TSF Stereo Breakout Cable.

@jonrdamesr honestly in my audio interface I've only one input free...
I want to split the stereo output of the spark because I'm afraid to damage something if i put the stereo output in a the mono input of the audio interface...I'm thinking something about impedance problem...

@coloxim If you use a Y splitter and plug in only one of the 1/4" phone plugs on the end you won't have an impedance problem if you start with the volume on your Spark very low and then raise it as needed to get a decent signal into your computer through your Scarlett. And even though the Spark claims to be a stereo amp, it's not really very much stereo so that should be fine.

Ok, so is better to use a split cable....
Thanks
