EQ v.s Compressor. What should go first?
-
As someone that has been messing around with audio for a relatively short time (1-2 years), I still don't have an answer to this question... So, as a noob, I assume it would be the EQ, considering it would sound more logical (no pun intended) to "tame" unwanted frequencies before bringing them up, rather than doing so after compressing the channel...
If my assumption is right, is there any creative use in compressing before EQ'ing?
I'd love to hear your opinions on the subject!

@albertareed1988 if you use bias-fx on your computer, you can find out which way you like it, by swapping them around in the chain. I personally go comp 1st.

@albertareed1988 I would mostly put it that way around, but more to control the overall level once EQ had been applied, rather than for the reason you stated. It 'should' sit better in the mix that way around in most cases.
