Spark connecting to a seperate cabinet by headphone output and poweramp
-
Hi,
I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaYhMNw6cPQAnd I was wondering if anyone else has experience with connecting the spark amp to a seperate cabinet?
Just like in the video I want to use the headphone output to a power amp and then directly into my 4x2 marshall cabinet.
I wonder:
- if this could damage your spark amp and/or cabinet
- suggestions on volume level of the spark and the power amp
- Any other tips regarding this idea.

@david-paais I have not heard of that method, and the Marshall speakers are not flat response speakers so it will not sound the same. I have a pair of HeadRush 108FRFR speakers that I connect to a Left/Right signal splitter into the Spark headphone jack. It sounds great, and can get quite loud.

yes.. that's the only way I play my spark now, if I ever bother to switch it on.
spark headphone out >amp head (return or rca) > quad box
Sounds excellent once you dial the bass down to 25%.
Once you've tried this method , I doubt you'll use it on its own again unless you really have to.
The spark is just a toy without a quad box really... anyone that says it's not, doesn't own a quad an head.....
Why would anyone want to use it through a quad?
Anyone that likes the thump without the windows rattling.
But if you still like the windows rattling, just turn it up 😂😂
