      Hey everybody!

I'm going on my big annual camping trip in a couple weeks and I'd like to be able to get more than a few hours life out of my Switch. I'm shopping for power banks and solar chargers and feeling a bit overwhelmed, so I thought I'd ask y'all what you're using.

Solar/USB charging is quite slow. It is best used to charge up a power bank during the day. Then using the power bank in the evening. And even then without a really good (and pricy) solar charging larger power banks won't recharge fully.

Depending on how many hours of play time you want just a power bank may do you. A 20,000mAh can get an extra 8-9 hours out of a Switch. A 26,800mAh can get 10-12.

I've never dad any luck with the solar bit. It's just a marketing ploy as the solar panel really isn't big enough to charge anything. Just get a regular power bank and if you want solar, get a foldable solar charger, it has a lot more surface area and will actually charge stuff (not quickly keep in mind). I can say with some certainty that an Anker power bank with iq charging will not fry your switch, but don't get the branded Nintendo ones because they are just over priced.
