Creating new patch/adding new effects or devices
-
I've recently for my Spark and have been enjoying the default patches available as well as tweaking the device parameters. I can't see how to create an entirely new patch though? I'd like to select the amp type and then add in desired effects/devices and save as a new patch. How can this be done, please?

@max-russell You just described the process. Using the app on your smart-phone or tablet, you double tap on any of the effects or the amp and can then select whatever amp model or effect you want and you can edit the actual sound by moving the dials and switches, all on the app. You'll be able to hear the changes in the sound as you do that. When you're satisfied, you can tap the three dots in the upper right and save the patch with your own name. You can save it to your local device and you can also choose to upload it to the ToneCloud. If you really like it, you can save it to one of the 4 pre-sets on the amp itself. The only effect we don't have more than one choice for is the NoiseGate. For some reason PG only includes the single unit and we can turn it on or off, or raise/lower the controls. It seems that the for many people the best way to use that is to have it enabled but to set the controls so the threshold is very high and the actual amount of control is very low. (or is it the other way around? I haven't tried to shape a new sound for months.) However you are limited to the chain that PG has constructed -- in other words, you can't place the reverb in any other slot in the sound chain. You can turn it on or off (tap and drag it up to remove it from the signal chain, or tap and drag it back down to enable it) and you can choose which version of reverb you want from those in the app. But we can't change the signal chain nor can we add new effects or new amp models. Well over a year ago the CEO of PG promised that there would be new effects and new amp models coming, but that hasn't happened yet.

@dhbailey thanks, I'm able to edit existing patches and change those devices to other devices of same type. However, I don't know how to create an entirely new patch and add in new devices into the effects chain where I'd like (and not just editing an existing device)

@max-russell You can't add in any devices which are not in a particular slot in the chain. If you want to change from one type of Delay (for example) you double tap the icon for the delay slot and then you can scroll down to choose other types of delay. But you can't move an overdrive effect into the slot intended for the delay. Each type of effect is hard-wired into its own slot -- you can change to a different type of that effect, you can edit the controls for whichever effect you choose from the ones listed for that slot, or you can turn that type of effect off. But that's all you can do -- we users do not have the ability to move around the effects to different locations in the chain.

@dhbailey okay, thanks. That's quite disappointing.

@max-russell Use the "contact support" link at the top of this page to put in a feature request to allow us to re-order the effects. You can add your voice to the many of us who have asked for that capability.
You can also remind them of the PG CEO's letter of over a year ago promising that there would be new effects coming "soon." Still hasn't happened. -
@dhbailey Just tried that and the link comes back with a not found error, so maybe customers asking for stuff isn't too popular.
