Gain Models Don't Clean Up
-
Hey all,
So on a tube amp you can clean up the gain channel by rolling your volume down on the guitar. Heck, you even get some great tones that way (think Hot for Teacher). I can't seem to get the spark high gain amp models to do this. It just makes it a quieter version of the same thing. Is this just a characteristic of the spark or are there settings or anything I can tweak to fix this? Any input is appreciated.
Also, I notice that the amp doesn't take real pedals particularly well, I think for a similar reason, that it is distorting the entire incoming signal. Not that the pedals sound bad, but just having that extra interference from the longer signal chain makes the noise annoyingly unbearable.

I have not noticed this to be the case. IME it acts like a normal non-modeling amp in that the drive will ease up with lighter playing or rolling off the volume knob on the guitar.
Perhaps it's the patch(es) you're using. Is this with a distortion pedal?
