      hi new here..how to I get single notes to last longer than a few secs before the software cuts it dead??? using MacBook Pro and GarageBand... any help appreciated...thanks.

        I don't think that BIAS FX "cuts it dead". Unless you're referring specifically to one of the noise-gate pedals. If so, then adjust that noise gate, try a different noise gate, or remove the noise gate.

        As far as getting more sustain in general, the answer is the same as in the real world. First make sure the guitar itself is sustaining. Second, you can increase sustain through compressors and/or overdrive (pedal or amp itself).

        Of course, make sure you've got the pre-amp gain in your audio interface set to get a sufficient signal into the software. Watch the input meters on the lower-left in the software. Get enough gain, but not too much.

          @holmberg2066 sorted the problem. GarageBand noise gate was the issue. Removed it from signal chain, kept Bias noise gate on. problem solved...
