Recording with a Focusrite Audio Interface
-
In Reaper, if I select the Positive Grid ASIO driver for my audio interface, I get signal but no monitor. If I plug my headset into the PC, I get no sound.
Not sure how I am able to record with the Spark if there is no way to monitor through the audio interface.
I experienced no difference with Presonus. I get signal in the DAW but no way to monitor anything.

@peterson396 Your message is confusing -- the subject mentions "Recording with a Focusrite Audio Interface" yet the body of the message mentions using the Positive Grid ASIO driver. Why would you use the PG Asio Driver if you're using the Focusrite Audio Interface? Maybe it would be easier to help if you actually asked a question and if you described exactly how you have your Spark attached to the computer. Is it directly using the USB cable or are you running it through the Focusrite interface?

@dhbailey
For the sake of clarity, the signal path is: Spark -> USB to PC -> PC via USB to Focusrite audio interface,In the Focusrite audio interface, I have selected the Positive Grid ASIO driver for input and output. In the DAW, I am getting signal but no monitor signal. If I select the Focusrite ASIO driver, I do not get any signal form the Spark but have monitor.
I am using Reaper but have also tried Presonus DAW.
Perhaps someone who is using Focusrite is better able to address the issue. Thank you for your thoughtful and constructive response.

@peterson396 If you are using the focusrite ( I use a focusrite solo) you need to have the headphone out of sparky into line 1 of your interface and then choose the focusrite driver in reaper. U wont get any sound out of the spark speakers just the headphones on the Focusrite. Otherwise use the PG asio driver with the spark and not use the focusrite. The only way to get live sound using the focusrite with the spark is take the headphone out or monitor out of the focusrite to a powered speaker or another amp.

OK, that gives me direction. Very helpful. Headphone into Focusrite. Otherwise, don't use the Focusrite and plug into PC headphone jack. Got it.
Thank you very much!

@peterson396 Dont use pc headphone for anything if using PG asio driver, headphones out of sparky. On board pc audio is completely out of the chain with the focus or spark audio chain
