Spark amp should be played LOUD(ER)
-
Almost the perfect software driven platform, particularly for at home. However, making noise along side a real drummer in a small/medium room is problematic.
I really can't believe I haven't seen this from PG yet but a powered extension cabinet should be a real straight forward and relatively inexpensive design/build. Box would feature single board computer that takes the USB out from the SA master, amplifies it (same or close to amp circuit in Spark) and powers a modeling compatible extension cab. (4 4" speakers @ 80w would be a fine start). Since the interface circuit is digital, signal degradation is virtually nil. These could also presumably be daisy chained. The daisy chain limitation would be a function of CPU latency. (note that 1.5 gig Ras Pi can easily be overclocked to 1.8 so I can't imagine you'd run into an issue assuming you were doing pure signal reproduction. Come to think of it, you could have the thing drive off a small LED touch screen for damn cheap as well, particularly if purchased in large volume.

Excellent idea! I wish the same or another bigger and more powerful model with 2x10/2x12/1x12 etc.

@jeffrey-b-mckim just try miking it up to front of house and monitor from on stage monitors as well.
Just tried this through a 600w full range PA and onstage monitor..... staggered is the word. -
@jeffrey-b-mckim I got a Left/Right splitter cable for the headphone jack, and run it into two HeadRush 108FRFR's. Get's loud, and sounds great!
