Bias Amp into Bias FX - Sounds Poor/Fizzy
-
I've recently purchased BIAS AMP 2 and BIAS FX 2.
Here's my setup..
- IPad Pro
- Irig HD 2
- Headphones or Blackstar amp (FX Return/bypass pre amp)
I can create an AMP sound that sounds nice in BIAS AMP 2, clean, crunchy, gain all sound good..no real noise issues (Slight noise on high gain amps). Sounds great on headphones and through the amp or monitors.
As soon as i open the amp in BIAS FX 2 it sounds quiter, a definite drop in sound quality and somewhat fizzy. Even if i bypass all effects in BIAS FX and just have the AMP created in BIAS AMP.
I'm a bit of a newbie to both Apps, I've fiddled with the output settings, turning them off, i can get some slight improvements but no matter what i can't seem to get the same tone as i do in BIAS AMP.
Could there be something in my settings that is causing this?
(As a side note I have Amplitube 4 and Tonebridge and neither of these apps have any issues with the above setup so i know its not any of my hardware that are faulty.)

I agree with your post and have the same issues, I posted this and have only had one reply which doesn't fix the issue.
Again Positive Grid just don't respond to any questions so leave it up to the customers to sort out.
Bias Amp 2 is a great amp sim just wish it would work in tandem with Bias FX 2.https://forum.positivegrid.com/topic/5365/bias-amp-2-amps-not-compatible-with-bias-fx2

I get the opposite when I create an amp in Bias Amp 2. Everything is quiet no noise whatsoever even when using the insane amps as the prototype, making the changes as I think fit, like para EQ, everything sounds good - then import it into Bias FX 2 and the amount of noise is extremely noticeable that I have to put a noise gate in front but even then the noise gate has a very noticeable effect that you can hear when it slowly choking the notes, it's quite disconcerting, which has the added effect of chopping into notes with delay and reverb, even when playing slowly making it quite unpleasant to listen to and makes your playing sound amateurish! The other thing that happens is the amp I designed Tolex, knobs and whatnot does not appear in Bias FX2 - it makes it appear however the way "it" wants it to look.
As you might've figured not a fan of the noise-gates in Bias Fx2 and changing the settings does nothing, except using the Noise Reduction versus mute option, but, using the NR mode, there is that wonderful noise again from the amp.
Oops, my reply doesn't belong here, this is for mobile apps, whereas I use a desktop version. It turned up in the new section.
Sorry!!!
