A few months ago I got a new MacBook Air (Intel Core i5) and migrated BiasFX over to it from an older MacBook Air.

A problem I have with the new system is that an OS process called softwareupdated kicks off fairly regularly and consumes so much CPU that it causes BiasFX to begin stuttering to the point it becomes unusable. This happens almost every day but at seemingly random times. I can 'fix' it each time by killing the softwareupdated process in Activity Monitor, but it is annoying. because it is unpredictable, so sound quality can degrade at any time.

Posting because I never had this problem on my older (slower) MacBook Air, so I'm wondering if anyone else is hitting this and what solutions they have adopted?
