Ipad Pro connection to BOSS Katana
-
Hi all I have an IPad Pro with the FX2 app loaded. I would like to connect it to my Katana amp, but can’t seem to get the proper cables or connections. IPad Pro has different type of lightening connector that I assume I would connect to the USB-b connector on the amp. I have been told to use an iRig, but it does not work with my IPad Pro. Also my IPad does not have a
Mini RCA connector.
Totally lost and cannot use the app from Positive Grid.
Help please. -
The iPad Pro does not have a "different type of lightning connector", it has a USB Type-C connector.
I don't know anything about the Boss Katana amp, but if it has a USB Type-A or Type-B connector, you should be able to get a USB Type-C to Type-A/B cable.
I'm not sure what you're trying to do here--where are you plugging in your guitar? Do you have an audio interface? Plug your guitar into the AI, connect the AI to the iPad with USB, connect the AI outputs to the amp's analog inputs.
Or are you thinking the Katana can act as an AI?

Thanks for clarifying that it is a type C usb. That said my intentions are to connect my IPad Pro via usb to the Katana and my Guitar directly to the Katana amp. Is this possible? I would like to avoid an interface if possible.
Thanks -
You question is really about the Katana amp and not about BIAS FX or the iPad. Perhaps there's a BOSS user group forum somewhere where you could ask this question. I don't think you're going to get any answers here.
