No sound from speaker?
-
OK I just got my amp. When i plugged in it worked fine. I plugged my headset in and after unplugging it no longer works. I've done everything i can think of. Even the factory reset. Any advice??

When i say it no longer works i mean it no longer is producing sound from the speaker.

I really don’t know. It seems fine when I plug the headphones in. Honestly I’m not impressed right now it’s not working. In the box was a QR code for software that doesn’t work. There is no manual that I can find And there isn’t much on the website for troubleshooting. I was hoping this was going to be fun and it’s not at all so far. I emailed support we’ll see where I get with that.

Here's the manual

Probably not relevant to your problem, sounds like a hardware issue but did you do a firmware update before using the amp? That's the first thing you should do. You have to be connected to your computer with the usb cable provided to do so. The Spark app is an easy install from Apple Store or Google Play, app/account setup also pretty simple, assuming your Apple or android OS version is fairly current (see manual).

Don't know what software you're referring to but if it's the free Presonus Studio One recording software the install is a little more complicated but it was successful on my PC. You'll need a Positive Grid account first. One tip, if you're running it on a PC you'll have to install an asio driver, which is provided, but there's a better, more universal version called asio4all that's a very easy install, just downloard, run the exe file and reboot. It's okay to have both drivers. Instructions here ...

@samueleonline
Good call. It seems the headset plug is defective. If i pull the headset plug out slowly it works most of the time.. -
@bschultz8 Thanks for the info man I appreciate it. Turns out its the headset jack is defective. The software is the Presonus one. It says scan the barcode but then it gives me an error and yes i have an account setup. Its like the code is invalid. It seems alot of people get the error. Why does this company make everything so hard? I'm a techie and this is stressing me out.

@thermality Thanks for the info I appreciate it. It wont work as a audio interface either. It shows up in my device manager but not in sound settings to select. I have the asio drivers installed as well.

I've only had mine couple weeks and haven't actually tried recording yet, but I just skipped the QR thing and followed the account and app installations where they led me, it went smoothly and everything seems to be functional. I feel your frustration tho, one thing I've noticed the last few years is the entire electronics industry has decided detailed, comprehensive user manuals are a thing of the past. I don't understand that, a company spends millions on r & d, manufacturing, distribution and marketing then decides to shave a few bucks on proper documentation? It just leads to customer frustration and support issues, doesn't make sense to me.
Anyway, you probably know more about this stuff than I do, but when the amp is connected to my computer via USB, in StudioOne when I click on Windows Audio/Audio Device I see this list of options ...
ASIO4ALL v2
Postive Grid USB Audio Device
Realtek (my soundcard)
Windows Audio
No Audio DeviceWhen I select the PG USB Audio Device and then open its control panel it shows the device to be the Spark 40 amp.
When I selet the ASI04ALL / control panel it shows Spark 40 USB / Realtek Audio.

@thermality Thanks I did get it working after watching some youtube videos. I do love the function of the amp but getting everything working is much harder than it should be for sure.
