Where does the Spark ship from for European orders?

  • I'm planning to buy the Spark but can't find any info on where the units for European orders ship from. Since I'm within the EU, this has quite a big gravity for me as anything overseas will mean I'll have to pay import taxes on top of the VAT tax that is already added upon checkout, hence making the $250 amp more of a $400 one. Anybody knows where the European orders ship from? Maybe you're in the EU yourself and can say where your amp shipped from firsthand?

  • I think it is from Germany

  • I had a message yesterday saying they are getting the EU ones shipped from Poland and then I assume straight to the UK from there.

  • @tigrowski said in Where does the Spark ship from for European orders?:

Have you found the shipment from EU? I have already order it (25/12/20) from USA (35 business days) and still has the status ready for shipment. So I am tired of waiting for the change of the status of shipment.

  • The shipment originates from China which will be direct to EU

  • @carl-galilee not so see my post above. Direct from the mouth of PG although what they say doesn’t also seem right as we all seem to know.

  • @tigrowski I placed my order on december 12th. The track order first said it woudl be shipped on 01/01/2020, and then on 16/01/2020. After a mail to the customer service, it's been finally shipped on 04/01/2020 by GLS, and I just got it few minutes ago. Looking at the GLS tracking, it came from Nuthetal, so in Germany. Gontran.

Hopefully that means I shouldn’t have too long to wait for mine then as I ordered on the 23rd December. Mind you my estimated started off as 27th January and then changed to 6th Feb so here’s hoping they are shipping earlier to the UK.

  • OK got it, thanks for the info guys!

  • @kain-harkins Good luck. I ordered mine on 2nd December.

The Track Order page says it should have shipped yesterday... It said 23rd Dec until the 3rd Jan, then updated to 7th. Goodness knows when it will arrive.

A friend ordered his the week before me and it arrived within 8 days!

  • @mrbenn yeah that’s the most frustrating thing I’ve found is people buying theirs after yourself getting theirs before you. I mean there’s a guy in Italy that also ordered on the 23rd December and he’s received his yet I’m still waiting for mine.

Is it because I’m in the UK? Seems a bit unfair if that is the case. PG have a lot of answering to do if it is the case I mean they could have shipped after Christmas and still beaten the 1st Jan date that we came out of Europe and yet it hasn’t happened and if that is the reason the it would be nice to know.

  • @kain-harkins It's important to understand how PG ships the amps -- they ship containers full of the amps to their distribution centers around the globe. The Italian distribution center and the UK distribution center are not the same. PG will ship a container when either the entire container or most of the amps in the container are sold. In the second case, that leaves some unsold amps which are left in the distribution centers. If a person who lives in the region served by that distribution center then orders an amp and there are some unsold amps in that distribution center, the amp is shipped very quickly, which can seem very unfair to someone who lives in a different distribution are where the distribution center does not have any unsold amps sitting around. That's why some people around the globe get their amps very quickly while others wait for months. I'm not saying it's fair or that it's right and proper, but that appears to be how things work with PG's distribution service.

  • @dhbailey yeah I guess.

  • @dhbailey That's good to know - that explains why there could be a massive delays. And if my friend who ordered the week before me got one of the last ones on a previous container, and I'm one of the first on a new container, that would make sense why he got it immediately and I'm still waiting.

  • I’ve just put on another thread that I got a message earlier saying the shipping information had changed on my order.

When I’ve checked it looks like it’s either on its way to Yodel or it’s been received and will be delivered in the next 2 days if I read it right. Either that or it’s gonna take 2 days from them shipping it to yodel and then it’ll be on it’s way to me.

It’s still saying in the yodel site their waiting for it to arrive and I’ve not much experience with Yodel as to how accurate their website is for updates but the last update was around 17.06 yesterday so I’m guessing it’ll be Thursday or Friday for delivery

  • @kain-harkins Yodels tracking is bottom of the pile as far as uk carriers go. I've had numerous packages arrive where their web tracking still says they are waiting to receive it. So fingers crossed you may get it earlier than expected :)

  • @carl-galilee yeah well it’s updated again just now saying it’s at the Shaw depot and they’re delivering on Thursday so fingers crossed.
