Is it not possible to add in other effects to the chain the app like you can on the Bias desktop software? If you can't, what a huge oversight on a feature. Why am i having to choose between overdrive OR fuzz OR distortion? Seems rather silly if you can't do this...

No you can't add more than the 6 effects the amp provides you in the chain unless you do it with pedals, with pedals you can add as many as you want but they would have to be at the front as there is no effects loop, but if you would like to have a od + distortion or fuzz you can perfectly add a pedal because those work well on the front

thanks for the response. why don't they just integrate BiasFX2 in to the App? Already has the same front end and would make complete sense so we can build a proper effects chain.

Naterep, simply because if they included Bias FX2 into the Spark, it would cost around 700/800 $ ...
Bias FX2 uses way more computer power, and the Spark chip is cheap and simply can't run it... That's why they had to create a 'slimmed down' version of Bias FX for the Spark...
The Spark itself only process Mono sound, even if the Spark Amp hardware has two speakers, they are only used when you play music, not when you play guitar ...Again, the cost factor rules :)

What they could do is to add new effects, in fact in late July 2020 , the Positive Grid CEO write an 'open letter' to the Spark owners and promised new firmware/sound ... We are still waiting...

How about they let you mix and match within the 6 slots though? eg. allow us to swap out a modulation effect for an extra overdrive or whatever. Still keep the 6x pedal slots but allow more flexibility. I want the moon on a stick don't I? ;-)

@johndinsdale229 You can certainly submit a feature request for that ability -- many others have already, I'm sure. I know I did! Use the "Contact Support" link at the top of this page to submit your request. I have a feeling that the signal chain may be hard-wired into the chip(s) inside the Spark which would make adding extra effects or allowing us to re-organize the sequence of effects impossible. But who knows, I may be mistaken and possibly a future firmware upgrade might allow for such things.

@dhbailey My guess is Spark is feature limited because PG wants to be able to release a higher end hardware version that fully supports Bias FX. I hope they do. Seems kinda obvious.

[sarcasm on] Why isn't the Spark, sold at the low-end price point, not have all the features of high-end offerings from others, even PG, sold for much more? [sarcasm off]

@thunder They already have Bias amp heads on the market and have had for several years.

@dhbailey The heads only support Bias Amp don't they? Or do the heads actually support Bias FX 2? I'm saying they need hardware that supports their full suite of software.

@thunder Here's a quote from the PG Bias Amp web-page: BIAS AMP was designed to integrate directly with BIAS FX, Positive Grid’s flagship guitar effects processing software. All of the custom guitar amplifiers you create with BIAS AMP 2 are automatically available in your BIAS FX, providing a foundation for your ideal finished tone. Start with an amp that fits your playing like a glove in BIAS AMP 2’s amp simulator, and then open it in BIAS FX and add pedal and racks effects. It’s a seamless and revolutionary workflow, making it easier than ever to create your own custom tones!

That makes it sound as if the Bias amplifiers work with both suites of software. I haven't investigated further because of the high cost of the Bias amplifiers.
