How are scenes used, all it seems to do is switch patches. Am I missing something?

Hello,
not exactly switching patches, but in a specific patch to turn on and/or off different effects. So you could, for example, turn on delay and distortion and turn off overdrive and chorus in the chorus of a song with one click.

Never the less, for me it’s just switching to the patch before or after the one I’m currently using -
@jerralwade perhaps I’m doing something wrong or my setup is flawed in some way.
Any info would be appreciated as I see the value of this.
