Problem with Spark (No Sound from Guitar Input)

Hello,
I got my Spark two months ago, but i got no time for testing. Now im home but i cant get Sound from the Guitar Input.
The guitar and the cabel are working i tested it with an other amp. I can play Music from my Mobile Phone and I can connect with the App but all i got from the spark is humming. it does not even crunch when I plug in the cable.Has someone a Idea what i do wrong ? or is it just broken ?

maybe the input connector is internally only disconnected
but are you sure you turned up also the output knob? -
yes im sure turned up the output / Master output knob.
And the Input connector is connected to the pcb i checked that too (with an multimeter). -
@philipp-malskorn I have the same issue. It's working as a bluetooth speaker and i've connected to the app etc.....but nothing from my guitar other than hum. Like you say not even any popping or anything when i plug it in.

Hi, I had similar problem with the amp. No sound at all when connecting to my bass guitar. Tried different brands of guitar cables, Otraki and GLS audio that worked great with my regular bass amplifier. Then as a last resort I decided to connect a Musician's Gear standard instrument cable that purchased at a local Guitar Center and is working just fine. Problem solved. Hope this may help.

Any ideas on this, I'm having the same problem. Plugged in a guitar when I first got it a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine. Since then, I've only used it as a Bluetooth speaker. Now tonight, went to plug guitar in and no sound at all. I unpaired all Bluetooth devices and did a factory reset, just to be certain. Like others, the same guitars and cords work with my other amps. Input seems fine, since the tuner functions.

I have the same issue as well. Just suddenly it stop making sound from guitar input.
I live in Singapore and I've tried to contact the local authorised service center. hope that they can help ...

I just got the same problem... The Spark worked fine a few hours ago. I did not change the setup (guitar + cable still plugged in).
Bluetooth works fine with sound but NO sound from guitar input.
Did anybody got a response from the helpdesk or has any suggestions to fix this problem?thanks

@sachagrootjans I’ve been going back and forth with the help desk folks since last Thursday. After a week of back and forth questions to narrow the problem down, they’ve decided on sending me a grounded power supply, which I’m almost sure will NOT fix the issue since its not a static noise thats accompanies my input signal. I just get absolutely no signal at all from the guitar input jack. Bluetooth streaming is clear as a bell.
My support case has been opened since last Thursday - I can tell they’re swamped since they’ve not been nasty or rude...just REEEALY slow to respond.
Like many folks on here...I’ve been a musician all my life so I’ve done the t-shooting dance of swapping of cables...testing different guitars....testing cables/guitars on my stage amp...testing ion my studio audio interfaces. You name it...I’ve done it all in the name of wtf’ness.Will keep this thread posted as i zero in towards a resolution with the PositivGrid folks in hopes this will help someone out in the future.

@deeznotes alright ya’ll...so here’s a quick update: I was told by the tech who was handling my ticket (as mentioned in my previous post) that it may have been a power supply issue. i “challenged” his diagnosis of swapping out the power supply (didn’t mean to be a jerk or anything...just didn’t understand how a new power supply would fix my no-input feed issue)
Anyways - he mentioned the option of returning it via Amazon (which is where i originally purchased mines)
Sidebar: delivery came pretty quick from Amazon.So thats where I’m currently at: Returned my spark via Amazon and ordered a new one - via Amazon as well - cause i honestly cant find a better product on the market that fits my needs of an all-in-one solution for home noodling. I refuse to get a multi-effects pedal or start going down the road of buying and constructing a pedal board.
The time that i had with the Spark - when it was working - was so awesome that I’ve got to give this company another chance.
My advice: Put in the ticket as SOON as you run into issues with your spark to their support team. I’ve noticed that they respond within 24 hours on weekdays, but weekends seem to be when their support team is off the clock. So you’ll be sitting on that ‘bricked’ Spark through the weekend. When they do respond...they’re super courteous, professional, and cool af.
Alright guys....be safe out there and i hope these little ‘smart’ speakers are bringing you some type of joy during these rough times. (When they do work...lol)

@philipp-malskorn I have the same problem also a buddy of mine who had his repaired and a month later same thing had happened but this is happening to alot of other customers as well. This is a known problem with there hardware failing/quality control issue that positive grid has failed to address in a professional timely manner. Maybe to them $300 isn't alot but to me yes it is. If I spend that much for something, I'm gonna get my money's worth not two hours worth it's disappointing and its frustrating.
back in the days I worked in customer service, and this right here is unacceptable. It's poor leadership on who ever is in charge of that department

got the same issue, guitar input is just dead.
I contacted the helpdesk. They send me another replacement, it takes weeks, but it will come.
However, the 1st replacement only last for few days until it got the same issue again.
Then I contact helpdesk again, they send me the 3rd one ... so far it's working.... dont know until when ... -
Same issue for me after 11 months of occasional use. Guitar input was hopeless after factory reset and multiple guitars/ cables.
Just logged a ticket. -
same thing here after a couple of month, only pink noise, no sound from the input jack ....and i just receive it from repair for the same !!!!! problem.... need help here,

Same Problem here. It stopped all of a sudden. Try resetting and installing ASIO and updating again in vain.

I too am having the same problem. Tried different cables and different guitars and a bass, and still NO sound. I love its functionality and having sitting next to my desk so I can plug when I get an urge to play. VERY FRUSTRATED!

My Spark did the same some days ago. I have some experience in building guitar pedals and stuff, so as I always did, I tried to see what was happening inside. Sometimes is a diode, sometimes a capacitor... sometimes an IC... who knows. First thing I did was follow the signal from input to the first active component: preamp IC. I don't remember exactly the name or model of this operational amplifier, but it just had two options for configuration, single or double. I started to think in a static-electricity problem, derived from some wires I've used, active pickups, and wireless systems I had used, but anybody can have the same issue. I checked with multimeter and some electricity fluctuations when It was plugged in... maybe grounding design problems... ground loops... I'm not sure because I don't even have the schematic of this 'JamUp' board. Some electrical signals can 'block' the IC, mostly because of static discharges, capacitors in loop etc. ONLY SOLUTION : short-break every pin in this IC to ground. I did it with condensers too, and voila!!! Working again. PROS: It doesn't needs to use your soldering iron. CONS: You'll have to dismantle the whole thing losing any chance of guaranty after that... but if you are a good DIY disassembler... maybe P.G. will ever notice.
So... here you have some pics, and our bad guy is just behind the principal processor, but still accesible. Mine just works flawlessly now... I hope this helps giving some clues to P.G. guys in order to solve these kind of problems. MINE WORKS AGAIN!! CHEERS FOR ALL![alt text]
