Hi, my phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note9, connects great and works great with Spark40. But, my aging eyes need something bigger. So, I am looking for recommendations for tablets. What brands have people had good luck with? Also, is there anyway to control the Spark40 from a computer?
      Thanks,
      Curt

@curtheckert If you want to stick with Android so it uses same OS as your phone just about any tablet even the low cost ones will do it does not require anything fancy. I'm using a two year old mid-priced Lenovo mostly as I bought a Samsung Note 6 which is a lot more powerful and I used for other things.

@curtheckert I bought an Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (10th generation) and it was easy to side-load the Google Play store and install the Spark app. There are clear instructions that can be found online on how to side-load the Google Play store on a Fire device. Once you've done that you open up the Fire HD tablet to all the offerings of the Google Play store in addition to the offerings in the Amazon app store. The Spark app on the Fire table works great. And you can buy a 32-gig Fire HD 8 (not the plus version with 3GB of operating RAM) which is all you really need for running the Spark app, for about $90 (with ads which appear on the lock screen when you're not using the device). Or a little bit more without the ads.

I'll second the Fire HD 8, which has worked-out fine for the Spark app and many other uses for me. Also, Amazon is now announcing their Prime Day dates in various countries (Oct 13-14 in the US), so people may want to hold off until that hits. Pretty much all Amazon-branded products go on-sale then. It also has a microSD slot, so you can expand the local storage beyond the built-in 32GB.

Although, the app isn't that bad on my 5" Pixel screen either -- I think it works better than people think on a smaller screen. So, I'd recommend at least trying it on your phone before splurging on a tablet, if it's only for the Spark. I was already considering a tablet for other reasons before, and the Spark was just the tipping point for me, not the sole reason.

Vankyo Z4 tablet today. Amazon price was $99 with a $10 off coupon so $89 + tax (under $100 with tax). Connected to my Spark with no issues and automatically transferred my history. It is a cheaper tablet but still has 32GB storage and 2GB RAM which is more than enough. The S30 has 3GB RAM and a better camera but I didn't buy it to take pictures. They both run Android 9.0 PIE. Buttons easily adjust in .1 increments with simple touch and drag up and down motion. Slow movement = slow increments. Checked both the noise gate and reverb. This is a pretty slick little tablet for the money. I got it specifically for use with my Spark so I'm pretty happy with it. Went through a full practice session and everything was great with the Amp interface. I did discover that the speaker on the tablet is pretty weak. It actually sounds kind of terrible, but I'm using it through the Amp which doubles as a Bluetooth speaker so still not a big deal.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019 model. It is an Android device, and just did the Android / Samsung update to Android 10. The update had no bearing on the Spark App.My tablet runs the Spark app with no issues, and is much better to use then my smartphone since everything is bigger. My only pet peeve, is I wish Positive Grid, would develop an update for landscape mode for Android. Wish they would do more Android capabilites for other software like Bias Fx, and compatibility to use it with Bias Fx head units.

I bought my tablet at Sams Club, which is a great place to price and buy a tablet. Walmart which is owned by the same company, sold the exact unit for $15 more. My model has 128GB of storage internally, and I doubled it to another 128GB with an SD card. Ive been very pleased with the tablet, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I had to.
