Spark in the loop!

Successful Sunday experiment. I bought a 1/4" female to 1/8" male adapter and plugged my effects return into that, then the headphone jack. Effects send goes into guitar input. Now my 6505 has access to all the Spark effects!
The Peavy is a noisy one to begin with and the Spark gate helps tame the preamp hum! The loop on my amp is also footswitchable, so I've got that goin' for me, which is nice. I was running a 4 cable NS-2, so now I've got to rethink my studio pedalboard.
So, I know this isn't a solution for all the folks who think the spark is too bass heavy. I tend to agree, especially if you use for recording playback compared to monitors. But I do think PG got a great sound out of such a small package. However, if you have an amp you do like and it has a loop, this will sound like your old amp (disable the amp models) but with all the Spark functionality.

I've toyed with an idea of using my tube amp power section via effect loop to deliver Spark sound at a proper rehearsal volume (headphones to loop return) but I'm not quite sure about sending a line level loop send into Spark's hi-z instrumental input. Doesn't it distort/overcompress the signal?

I don't have anything tangibly negative to report on this. Sounds just fine to me.

Also gives me an idea to run the headphone out jack to my interface for digital recording so I can use my monitors for playback instead of the spark itself.
I know it has usb out, but I haven't figured out how to playback in monitors when recording this way. I think I saw an asio4all thread that may have solved this. Still searching.
