Sound Wobbling - Audio from USB

@robdquick Many people who have posted problems with the Spark ASIO driver have gotten better results using the ASIO4ALL driver. With the ASIO4ALL driver you can change from 48K to 44.1 if you want to for your recording projects, whereas with the Spark ASIO driver you're stuck changing all your recording projects at 48k. And people who have used the ASIO4ALL driver haven't complained about pitch fluctuations. Try it and see if you get better results.

@dhbailey Thanks, I'll give it a try and report back!
-
@dhbailey I have just tried using the ASIO4ALL driver and it is working perfectly now - many thanks
-
@chris-holland With ASIO4ALL working so well and being free, one has to wonder why PG bothered to create their own ASIO driver. They might have put those resources into figuring out how to add more/different effects to the app/amp.
In any event, I'm delighted that you've solved your problem!
-
@dhbailey asio4all is a hacked wrapper on directx sound for windows. It is not a true hardware specific driver. If the PS asio was properly coded it would outperform. But.. :(
-
@nwfungi It doesn't matter how ASIO4ALL works, it's just important to realize that it works where PG's ASIO drive fails. You're correct that if PG's programmers knew what they were doing they would program an ASIO driver that would work all the time, would allow for various sample rates, etc. But since they don't seem to be capable of doing that, ASIO4ALL remains the best solution for Windows users.

Most everyone in this thread appears to be a Windows user, but I am having this exact same issue on Mac going into Logic Pro X. Has anyone figured out a workaround for it?
-
Hi All,
I have the same issue. Raised it with technical support who said: "Our dev team are currently aware of the issue and are working on a fix, in saying this the fix will take some time before it is implemented. We apologize for the inconvenience."
So hopefully a fix will come along before too long.
-
@charles-mcclea Thanks for sharing what you learned from PG tech support. For a company that has supposedly sold so many amplifiers, one would think they would have a larger development team that would be able to solve such problems.
I'm still waiting for the "additional effects and amp models" that the PG CEO promised in a letter well over a year ago, so don't hold your breath about getting a solution soon.
In the meantime, have you tried using a cable from the headphone out jack to your Mac, either directly or through an audio interface, to see whether the issue can be solved that way?
-
@dhbailey Yes, I have tried using the Headphone out. I found that, whilst it is useable, it makes for a rather muddy sound. As such, until a fix is made to the Spark amp I will just be using it for practice rather than as an interface.
... though I might try micing it up if there is a tone I can't recreate using Ampire in Studio One.
-
@dhbailey hi, I've the same problem, if i listen the guitar with spark as audio card the sound is weird... I've to disable monitoring in daw...
I want to try asio4all drivers, but where can I find it?
Thanks

@fonseca-ldm Same here despite the latest firmware. Updated October 2022... :-(
