Spark question on tonecloud
-
Hi all. I am patiently waiting for my Spark to arrive and wondering about how tones work. Can I choose an artist (specifically like Slash, Nuno, David Gilmour etc) and download a rig that sounds like them or do I need to try and create the sound myself? Wondering in advance. Cheers.

Tonecloud is a mixed bag of thousands of tones but it does have a search feature. As an example, I did a search for "Slash since that is a specific one that you mentioned. The search resulted in a tremendous number of hits which included Tones others have created and shared that include the word Slash, such as "L800 Slash Metal" and others that specify "GNR" or "Guns & Roses" and many other variations. Chances are you can find something you like but, if not, you can download and make your own modifications to any of them, or create your own. You don't have to wait for your Spark to check it out. You can download the app, skip the hardware connection and select the cloud in the upper right corner to go to Tonecloud and explore. Have fun, it's a cool little rig.

@rich-diston It's important to remember that the tones are mostly just people's attempts to recreate the sounds of their idols plus making up new sounds of their own. There is no official "Slash" or "David Gilmour" tone in the tonecloud. There are attempts (some more successful than others). There is also no official naming convention for the tones, so a search for "Slash" may only turn up some of the tones which may be good. And if you can't find one you like you can create your own. You might try to find out what his setup is and then try to emulate that as best you can in the Spark.
