Bias FX 2 is not starting with MacOS Big Sur public beta ?
-
If that might be of any help here's what I get when trying to launch an app via Mac Terminal:
sudo open BIAS\ FX\ 2.app/
The application cannot be opened for an unexpected reason, error=Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-10826 "kLSNoLaunchPermissionErr: User doesn't have permission to launch the app (managed networks)" UserInfo={_LSFunction=_LSLaunchWithRunningboard, _LSLine=2508, NSUnderlyingError=0x7fae2dc13b70 {Error Domain=RBSRequestErrorDomain Code=5 "Launched process exited during launch." UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=Launched process exited during launch.}}}

same problem here, I can use it on Garage Band but then I don't have any of my presets which I painstakingly collected in the past couple of years. Bummer.
-
@marcos-cerqueira that is a bummer. I saw an article once that you can copy your presets from the standalone app folder to the VST plug-in folder (not sure why there are two folders). You can also set up an alias that will keep them in sync. Just do a search on the forum for shared plugin folder and you should find the thread.

Well.. to everyone still waiting on this, I contacted support and asked for a downloaded link for the first Bias FX app, that works on Big Sur just fine... and they gave me the link with a redeem code for the demo version... its not great as FX 2 but at least its something if you wanna just keep practicing with some effects and presets from cloud...
So you might wanna send them a msg if you feel like =P -

mo version... its not
Good news... not great news...
Have they said anything about a new version that is compatible?
-
Considering their silence about this.
I went ahead and requested a refund of my money. They would probably notice it if we all did that.
-
@rvelozo they gave me a vague answer saying their team is aware and working hard on this... then I asked for a download link for the first FX that actually works, to keep practicing and they did...
Yea.. not great news, but at least its something to use with a few pedals just for now... -
Man...I love PG more and more with each major failure. Get your stuff together PG - all your competitors
do! -
@c-j-olson71 Their biggest competitor also advises not upgrading until their product is confirmed compatible with Big Sur, so I'm not sure you know what you're talking about.

This is a gatekeeper issue - the app will need to be recompiled for the 11 SDK, and code signing setup. Should be a relatively straightforward process, unless the app is using some incompatible apis. I've done the same myself for one of our legacy apps.
-
I’ll leave this here...

I'm curious and 'adventurous' by nature, so I installed Big Sur on my mid 15 MBP a few day ago.
I've installed Reaper + a handful of plugins : MT Power Drumkit, Native Instruments plugins/instruments, Spitfire Audio Labs, BiasFX2 VST & AU plugs ...
- Dropbox app, Google Drive app, GNU Emacs ...
Everything seems to work fine so far ... so good ... :-)
The only thing that doesn't install is the standalone BiasFX2. Not a big deal for me, since I mostly use the plugins anyway, and they work just fine !
But I'm still curious ...
How come some apps work, and others don't ? The Reaper and Emacs versions I installed are from october and august ...
Don't all apps need to deal with the same gatekeeper / code signing setup? -
yeah, it requires notorisation, which has been sorted in the latest beta :)
-
Uninstall old version of Bias FX2 and then clean install beta which fixed the issue.
