@esebban you said it, it's a beta OS. All kinds of things won't work properly in beta releases, as companies haven't had the chance to evaluate what needs to change for their product to work in that environment.

Go back to Catalina and wait until the product is fully supporting the new OS.

@myxolydian no worries, I can wait. This was just an info for others to not migrate to the new macOS until a full support. Also I wanted to see if someone has faced the same issue and found a workaround :)

@hunimx I faced the same issue related to permissions running Logic Pro X, do you mind sharing what version are you using on Big Sur?

@m-santonastaso It was Big Sur Developer Beta 10. But I returned to Catalina because I had other issues with other application. I will install Big Sur once the OS is more stable and compatibility with the third party apps is proven..

Now major release is now out... and I have updated it...
                        Issue persists..
                        Same permission error:

You do not have permission to open the application “BIAS FX 2”.
Contact your computer or network administrator for assistance.

Does anyone figured out how to bypass this error message?

                        Thank you

                          Hi,
Same issue, no way to run Bias FX2 in Standalone mode. It works as a plugin in Garage Band... I Think the only way to solve the issue is an update from Positive Grid...

@coyote thanks for the update. I was going to update but now I guess I will wait. Seriously though the beta has been out for a long time... why is this not compatible yet?

@adampkantor It's the same with IK Multimedia.
You can read from Sweetwater how they are advising people to not proceed with updates until compatibility has been confirmed. There are many companies who don't have full compatibility with Big Sur for their apps yet.

If you rely on certain audio apps, you should never be looking to upgrade your OS right away. This is common knowledge in the pro-audio world.

@myxolydian this is all good to know. I don't live in the pro audio world, I just use BiasFX2 to practice guitar with so you can understand why I'd want the benefits of the new OS and this one little app is holding me back :)

@adampkantor I upgraded to Big Sur before checking compatibility with FX, so I have been trying to get around this problem since yesterday.
I was able to run the plug-in version in Garage Band.
It the same window and you can save your presets the same way. When the fix comes you should still have your presets.

Also Bias FX1 works normally. It is only the stand alone version of FX2 that doesn’t have permission for me.

@rvelozo Thanks! There seem to be 2 threads on here about this so funnily enough I just commented in the other thread to someone that I'm using the VST GarageBand plugin till PG fixes this issue :)

@esebban same, even though the GarageBand plugin works it's annoying when I just want to practice. I'd like to say that a fix is coming soon but I'm guessing that since this thread is 3 months old PG hasn't figured it out yet. Thing is, new Macs are shipping with Big Sur so that means that anyone who buys one won't be able to buy BiasFX lol
